Mary Deal, a native of Walnut Grove, in California's Sacramento River Delta, is an oil painter and photographer now selling her work, which began as a hobby.

She is also an award-winning author with six published suspense/thrillers, a collection of short stories and flash fiction, and a reference book for writers. Mary is a Pushcart Prize nominee, a columnist with The Garden Island newspaper, and also Associate and Contributing Editor of Mississippi Crow magazine.
